How do I register for teaching jobs in the UK?

There are three options:

  1. Complete a brief online registration form and then your local Protocol Education consultant will contact you within a few days if you are successful
  2. Call us directly on 1800 246 436
  3. Email australia@protocol-education.com and let us know which state in Australia you are living in. The appropriate consultant will then get in touch!

What happens after the initial registration?

As mentioned above you will be contacted by your local Protocol Education consultant if you are successful. They will then send you a link to our full online application form and set up a good time to formally interview you either via phone or face to face. During the interview you will have the opportunity to find out all about living and teaching in the UK and decide if it sounds like an experience you would like to have. Following your interview - if you have been successful - your local consultant will guide you through the process of collecting all the necessary documents for your arrival into the UK and preparing you for the adventure of a lifetime! Please see our registration timeline for more details.

Of course you can, but why would you? Having local consultants in Australia who can help you out and prepare you for your journey overseas is totally for your benefit! By registering with Protocol Education before you leave Australia you can avoid having to wait around (sometimes a month or two) before all your police checks and references come back. In order to work in the UK you must have a UK Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check processed and sometimes it can take several weeks for this to come through. If you register from Australia we get get this process started early, often in time for you to start work as soon as you land in the UK! You lose nothing by registering here first and gain a lot more time to start teaching!

Our Australian consultants have all lived and worked in the UK before so are a great resource and will be able to give you lots of advice before you leave home. When you register from Australia we book you in for a UK Induction in our UK offices before you arrive – so they know to expect you and are able to help you as soon as you arrive! They will help you to set up a bank account, apply for a National Insurance Number and give you guidance about good areas to live, etc.
