Search for Teaching Jobs in England

Welcome to the Protocol Australia Blog!

Hello and welcome to the first ever edition of the Protocol Australia Blog. In this ongoing series of ‘ProtoBlogs’ we wish to help you in your search for teaching positions in the UK.

How we can help

We recently sent a ‘feedback survey’ to Australian teachers currently working the UK. We asked them what they were most worried about before they came over, and these were the responses...

  1. Accommodation
  2. Work
  3. Bank Accounts
  4. Understanding UK Tax and National Insurance
  5. Meeting people in the UK!

Here at Protocol we like to help our teachers in every way when they are relocating to the UK to teach. Here’s how we tackle the worries you may have...

  1. Accommodation – We have a dedicated team who deal with all the Arrival Services at Protocol Education. We recommend certain areas to live, and even certain landlords. Please see our UK Accommodation page for more help!
  2. Work – Our consultants are specialised for different areas, for example Primary, Secondary and SEN. We always try to find schools that suit the teacher, and check that you are happy!
  3. Bank Accounts – We can make this process very simple. You do not need a UK address or any bills!! We can help you with the form and get an account opened on the day of your induction. Please see our UK Bank Accounts page for more information.
  4. Understanding UK Tax and National Insurance – At your UK Induction we will explain the UK Tax system, and provide you with the forms to fill out for your National Insurance Number. Please see the NI help page.
  5. Meeting people in the UK! Protocol is always holding events, big and small. With the annual Boat Party and Pub Quiz, along with the Theatre Club, there are more ways than ever to meet other teachers in the UK! See the Events page for more information.

To hear about life in the UK straight from the horse’s mouth please see our Protocol Talks To... articles. These are conversations we have had with teachers who are flown over to the UK.

I hope you enjoyed the ProtoBlog, and watch this space for news on upcoming UK events and teacher recruitment fairs that Protocol Education will be attending!!
