Starting work in Jan 2011 and already registered with one of our local Australian offices?

The Australian school year is coming to a close and you’ll be busy writing reports, attending Christmas festivities and basically packing up your life ready for your departure in late December or early January. You’ll have a million and one things running around in your head, things you really need to do before you leave and things that you really don't!

Pre-departure Checklist (those things you really must do before you leave!)

• Pack your copy of your CRB (if you have it back yet)
• Pack your AFP
• Pack your Induction letter
• Pack your UK SIM card & ensure that you handset is unlocked.
• Leave a photocopy of your passport/visa and credit card with someone at home for safekeeping (also scan a copy and email it to yourself)
• Book your first few nights accommodation

At your UK Induction Protocol will help you (you really don’t need to do any of these before you go):

• Open a bank account with HSBC bank for free
• Apply for a National Insurance Number
• Register with the General Teaching Council For England (GTCE)
• Sign up with Key Portfolio (Umbrella company affording great tax offsets)

And offer great tips on:

• Step by step guide on how to fill out our timesheets and get paid
• Accommodation advice
• Getting the most out of supply teaching
• Travel advice, both getting around locally and booking trips abroad
• Social Networking opportunities
