Understanding Dyslexia

Laura is a primary trained teacher who has taught in both mainstream and special needs settings. Now she is one of our Special Needs Specialists and runs training both in schools and our offices.

Understanding Dyslexia

Watching dyslexic children struggle to achieve is an all too common a problem in the primary classroom. Typically, dyslexic children have a considerable difference between apparent intelligence and academic success. Being bright, feeling stupid and giving up hope of ever achieving anything will soon be a thing of the past!

Our course aims to help you understand the difficulties that dyslexic children have approaching leaning and then help you to plan and deliver lessons in a ‘dyslexic friendly’ way.

If this sounds like a course you could be interested in check out our CPD course timetable or if there isn’t a course listed contact your local branch to express to ask when they will be setting up a course near you!

Here is some feedback from the training:

  • “This course has given me practical tips to implement in the classroom.”
  • “Great presentation, verbally and visually!”
  • “Has given me a lot of insight into the dyslexic mind and confidence to teach effectively”
