Interview with Top Long Term Teacher 2013 - Ila Mazumdar

It's National Supply Teacher Week! The fabulous Ila Mazumdar was nominated by our London East Primary team as their Long Term Supply Teacher of the Year. She has won a free massage/reflexology treatment and an evening of pampering on us. We cornered her to ask her a few questions ...

What do you love about doing supply work?

As a NQT it has been fantastic being able to work in a range of schools meeting different children and colleagues and learning different teaching ideas as well as approaches to organising learning.

What do you like about the particular long term role you have at the moment?

Currently I am working as a Year 1 class teacher and it's wonderful having time to get to know all the children in the class and contribute to progressing their learning over a longer term basis. I work with a super team and enjoy collborating and sharing ideas.

How do you hear about Protocol Education and what do you like about us?

I heard about Protocol Education through a friend who is a teacher in another primary school that use the agency. The  team of consultants that I've worked with are always friendly, responsive and helpful. Communication with the  London East Primary  team as a whole usually friendly and efficient. They respond quickly to messages and have useful and clear weekly systems in place.

Anyone you would like to thank...?

Everyone I've been in touch with at Protocol Education, especially the consultants who have looked after my area (Jody and now Leon).  My current consultant, Leon, is ace and has been instrumental in my supply work over the year. He has always been very encouraging, supportive, responsive and super positive. Huge thanks Leon.
