Top Apps for Teachers

We are very excited about the launch of our jobfinder app. Click here to find out more.

This got us thinking, what other apps for teachers are there? We’ve found a few that might make your job a little easier. What apps do you use? Let us know if we’ve missed one that you simply can’t live without.

1. Pages

Available: £6.99, iPhone and iPad
Planning to head into school early to make final touches on resources or a presentation? No need. Do it on the move with this word processor. It’s easy and only takes minutes!

2. Dropbox

Available: Free, Android, iPhone and iPad
Dropbox allows you to take your photos, documents, and videos anywhere. Brilliant for ‘taking’ work between home and school without worrying about where you’ve placed your USB (which pocket was it in yesterday?).

3. Teacher’s Pet – Classroom Display Resources

Available: Free, iPad
Classroom looking a little dull? Do you need posters, banners, word mats, stickers, certificates, signs, etc? Would you like them free? You will find hundreds of educational classroom display resources and teaching aids here.

4. Educreations Interactive Whiteboard

Available: Free, iPad
If you love your interactive whiteboard then you’ll love Educreations. It turns your iPad into a recordable whiteboard. Imagine the possibilities! It has the ability for voice recording, realistic digital ink, photos and text, and you can share on social media.

5. Google Maps

Available: Free, Android, iPhone, iPad
A saviour for supply teachers. Got a last minute call for work and are completely disorientated when you leave the station or your car? Don’t worry Google Maps will save the day. It can’t tell you where the entrance is though! Round you go again!

We’d love to hear what you think about apps, our app, and if you have app suggestions. Email Megan at mparsons@protocol-education.com with the apps name and the reasons you depend on it.
