Getting Creative for Christmas With Twinkl

If you are stuck for ideas of what Christmas activities you can do with your class don't worry! Santa's elves at Twinkl Resources, the home of thousands of high quality and trusted teaching resources, have a whole range of ideas for you. Heather takes us through some of the best.

Christmas is a really good time of year to get really creative with your teaching activities - if you are a creative person of course. If, like me, you need a bit of a helping hand, we've come up with some nice and easy activities that children love!

I always think it's really important to put across the true meaning of Christmas to children, just so they understand it's not all about getting loads of pressies and looking out for Santa. Our Nativity Christmas Story Powerpoint does just that - and is really easy for children to understand as well without being too simplistic! For older children, our Christmas Around the World Comprehension Activity is great for teachers on supply, as it requires no preparation time at all and could stimulate some interesting discussion. Just print and go.

Children of all ages love our Design Your Own Snowman Christmas Cards, or we've a free template here as well that you might find useful. This year, craft wise, our Christmas Cone People have gone down a TREAT, as have our brand new Christmas Paper Model Pack, made by our very own paper engineer Alex. If you're more of a one click and print sort of person, you can get many of our offerings in this Christmas Craft and Activity Pack - great for rehearsal times, end of term afternoons and wet playtimes.

Something else that has been really popular this year are hand and footprint crafts! Here are a few of our favourites that we KNOW people love. They are also really easy to do, if you don't mind getting paint all over your hands and feet that is!

Simply paint children's hands the appropriate colour, print, wait to dry and then add the rest! Can be put onto a card template or a some coloured card. Perfect for taking home to parents and a real crowd pleaser if you are looking to make an impression on the staff in a school you are working in temporarily.

Ta da!

Post a photo our your completed activities to Protocol Education's or Twinkl's facebook pages for us to enjoy!
