Getting Paid

For most candidates getting paid is the most important part of working and living in the UK and what will fund your travels! Working with Protocol Education you are paid weekly for any work that you undertake through us, which means budgeting is not too difficult.

You also have the choice of being paid through our in house PAYE payroll system or, if you choose, through an 'umbrella company.' Signing up with an umbrella company is not a requirement of your registration with Protocol Education - we give you the choice of how you are paid. Importantly - unlike other agencies - your daiy rate of pay will not be reduced if you choose to be paid through our PAYE payroll system over an umbrella company..

From the 6th April 2016 your takehome pay is likely to be significantly affected if you are employed through an umbrella company. We can talk you through the relevant legislation changes and highlight why working & being paid through Protocol's own PAYE payroll system is the most profitable option going forward.

Pay rates in England vary from about £100 per day in regional areas and upwards of £150+ for experienced teachers in full time employment. Most teachers in London are paid between £130-£150 per teacher day depending on the specific role, school & length of the assignment. Often if the school requests you back it can boost your daily rate of pay too!

Unlike here in Australia, pay rates can vary from school to school and city to city. If you are interested in finding out the rate of pay in LondonBristolCambridgeManchester or wherever you are looking to live, just contact us and we can let you know!
